Henry Joseph cut his teeth in the music business by playing in the Alabama based Tooth & Nail/SolidState Christian metal band, MyChildren MyBride, a band that toured worldwide, appeared on numerous music television shows and landed on the Billboard top 200. In 2010 Joseph wrote Sleeping in Parking Lots, a book about his travels while simultaneously touring the globe. After declining an offer to host his own MTV music video program in 2012, Joseph quit the metal band and set his sights on developing what would become the music of The Woodsman’s Babe. The indie folk tunes ended up being a great source of catharsis for the artist who found a new freedom in being able to create the music he felt he was suppressing while being enveloped in the metal world.

The Woodsman’s Babe was busy touring and fly outs for festivals and shows nationwide. The Woodsman’s Babe signed to Autumn + Colour Records, which released the first EP, then the following year signed to CI Records to release the self-titled album in 2015 and the sophomore release “Babeland” in 2016. After two years of several full U.S. tours under United Talent Agency, Joseph took time off from the road and began working in media as a photographer in New York City for such publications as New York Times, Vogue and Vanity Fair. Joseph has been working behind the scenes as a photographer and filmmaker for several production companies ever since.

In 2018, Joseph went back to his roots with music and composing and recording piano focused music specifically tailored for film, T.V. and commercials. In 2020, Joseph began writing music for a new project with the original conceit of capturing the sound of 1980’s and 1990’s country Joseph grew up on. The new country music project “Henry Joseph” was written during the winter of 2020, the demo was recorded January and February 2020 at Mondrian Studios in North Hollywood, CA. and the EP was recorded in Nashville, TN. by Skyler Taylor in 2022.
